Currently Bourgeois Baby offers baby and toddler size bibs and the ultimate burp cloths. Both products are made of durable, hand picked fabrics with some unique features. Our product line will continue to grow, so make sure you check with us often. We will be offering holiday and Christmas style baby bibs and burp cloths just in time for gift giving, as well as some smaller bibs for those brand new babies in your life!
Every product made by Bourgeois Baby is really made by us! Jamie Bourgeois is “momprenuer” and owner of Bourgeois Baby, inspired by her daughter Vera. When Vera began eating purees, Jamie had plenty of bibs to pick from. But meal after meal, Vera’s bibs just didn’t hold up. There wasn’t enough coverage, they leaked and left her clothing wet underneath, vinyl was too stiff, the neck was too big, they didn’t hold up in the wash (except the Velcro seemed to gain a new life sticking to socks and shirts in the laundry), they were just plain ugly, or some combination of the above.
Enter a few sketches, a few prototypes, various experimental fabrics, and viola! The Bourgeois Baby Bib was born!
The Bourgeois Baby Bib is the solution to those messy mealtimes. Each bib has three layers to provide superb protection. The top layer is made of absorbent cotton or cotton corduroy with super hip designs. The middle layer is a cotton flannel to provide even extra absorbency. Lastly, the bottom layer is the choice between a plush cotton terry cloth or 100% waterproof PUL.
Cotton terry cloth is a great absorbent and protective material. And it’s practical, too. When your little one is done eating, the back of the bib acts as a towel for their face or even your hands. PUL (polyurethane laminated fabric) is a special fabric made of polyester and treated with a waterproofing breathable laminate. PUL is commonly found in today’s cloth diapers and last for years. If your baby or toddler is the type to spill large amounts of fluids on themselves, PUL is the way to go!
